The eggs do not simply fall from the egglette cups, you will need to run a spoon around the inside of the cup to help them along.
The cups are dishwasher safe but I did need to hand wash 2 of them after their trip through the dishwasher.
Is this easier or faster then the old school way ... its kind of like a pet rock, I think these will have their 15 minutes of fame and then we will find them in the bottom of a drawer or back of a cabinet with other quick fix kitchen gadgets.
